— WEATHERIZATION —
The Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program provides weatherization and energy conservation services at no cost to households below 60 percent of Oregon statewide median income or up to 200 percent of poverty level. Primary funding for the program is from the U.S. Department of Energy with other funds from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, utility companies, and the Bonneville Power Administration.
Weatherization services can be received by filling out an Energy Assistance application at Harney Hub (for Harney County) and Community in Action (for Malheur County).
When doing weatherization, certified inspectors conduct a thorough home inspection, diagnostic testing, and use auditing software to determine what measures are cost effective and provide the highest energy savings. Desired results are healthy, safe, and energy-efficient homes.
