03 Sep We might be wearing a mask while providing care for you
You might see caregivers at Harney District Hospital and its affiliated clinics wearing masks.
In an effort to protect patients and community members from exposure to respiratory illnesses, our caregivers are required to wear masks whenever there’s a surge of COVID-19, influenza (flu), or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in our region. During these surges, caregivers will wear masks while providing direct (in-person and face-to-face) care to patients at our facilities.
Although strongly encouraged, masking will NOT be required for patients and visitors.
Unlike flu seasons of the past, waves of respiratory illness no longer follow predictable seasonal patterns. This new framework is designed to respond to local conditions in real time by taking a proactive, data-driven approach to protecting our patients and community members. Enacting this new policy is just one of the many ways that Harney District Hospital is prioritizing your health and safety!
